North Shore Dance & Drama Center

NSDC emphasizes both perfunctory classroom techniques and professional success. Our ballet students benefit from the knowledge and skill of our instructors. Many of staff hold advance-degrees in education—and all complement their teaching careers with professional work in the dance and dramatic arts industries. North Shore Dance Center has become one of the Chicago-area’s top dance studios by actively building a staff of acclaimed international professionals, including both current and alumni performers of Chicago Opera Ballet, Joel Hall Dancers, Giordano Jazz Company, Butler Ballet, Dance Chicago, CG Jung Institute, Culture Shock, Washington Dance Theatre, Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, national musical theater tours, and international dance tours.

We offer classes that fit any age or experience level! Come dance with us today!

Ballet / Ballet Pointe

Our Beginning & Intermediate Ballet Program creates solid footing for future dance success. While beginning courses emphasize posture, positions, and learning to leap and turn, our Intermediate classes focus on combining technicial elements to create stunning dance choreography. With teacher approval, students begin Ballet Pointe at the barre in Pre Pointe and continue to the floor in Pointe. Artistic Director and owner Arla Faye herself teaches Pre Pointe and Pointe, as do veteran dancers Ruben Zapata and Valerie Nelson.
